“There are a couple of things I’m pretty excited about. I just started a new role here at Facebook; I’m in vertical marketing, so I help support the sales team in marketing programs, do a lot of sales enablement and industry events. It’s new and exciting for me!

Outside of work, I’m excited about being a mom to my 9-month-old, who’s changing all the time. It’s inspired me to do more with my non-Facebook company, Mod + Ethico. Mod + Ethico is an ethical fashion company that focuses on sustainability, fair trade, and fairness throughout the supply chain. We’ve been curating other brands and designers that fit within our values, but now we’re actually expanding and developing our own brand.

We’re starting with a baby wrap, [because] the products I’ve tried haven’t really fit my needs. I want pockets, I want to be stylish, the fabric needs to be breathable, but also warm and eco-friendly. We’re also developing a compatible cardigan that’s wearable over [a baby carrier], but also for pregnant women to be worn over a changing body, and still a drapey, cute piece for any woman interested in a moisture-wicking, breathable, stylish piece that can be worn in a couple of different ways.

I have the prototype—I’ve been wearing it and testing it—and we’re going into phase 2 of the development. I know a lot of apparel development agencies out of Chicago, and I want to make it locally to give back to the local ecosystem and align to Mod + Ethico’s value portfolio."
